Okay, I have to say the chair is a pain in the ass. Well I knew that would be the case, but still. I want to keep complaining all the way.

Term 2 - Week 6
Here's the second pass of the assignment from last week. Blocking plus.
I changed a few bits, and left some stuff to fix after I get my feedback for this week.

Term 2 - Week 5
Alright, onto the new assignment! Got the blocking done.
I skipped the foot/ballrolls this time. I focused on getting the weight/balance, spacing and timing right, hopefully it worked!
You can see me jumping as well~

Term 2 - Week 4
Alright! The Ballie long jump in its polished version! I'm quite happy with the outcome actually. There's still a few things to fix, I'll see to my mentor's e-critique first.
And it's time for the next project's planning. We're switching to Stewie with no arms!

Term 2 - Week 2
We're in Term 2! I'm starting from week 2 as week 1 was just planning, which you can find below.
First, here's the blocking pass for Ballie long jump.
The planning from last week. I decided to change some parts to keep it more interesting and add variety (also to bring it up within the frame range >_> ).
Term 1 - Progress Reel ^_^v
Yaay! Animation Mentor Term 1 cleared! Time passes so quickly, unbelievable really.
So I quickly put together the assignments from Term 1. Obviously these, or at least a few of them, will be going into a proper reel towards graduation. For now, just for a quick recap:

Term 1 - Week 11
The polished version of Ballie sneaking. I couldn't watch my e-critique for this week, so I couldn't revise it unfortunately. I'll have to leave it at this~
And Stu trying to balance himself.

Ballie personality walk; sneaking!
And the planning:
And the exhausted Stu! At least he has his water bottle~ Poor guy.
I'm being lazy on the pose sketches lately, I noticed. Here's a few:

Ballie's vanilla walk is polished this week. I think it's kind of hard to keep a walk cycle "vanilla", the slightest change you make can lead to a personality walk.

This week is the blocking for vanilla walk on Ballie. Here's my blocking pass:
This week Stu has to show he's strong. Stu is definitely good at killing zombies. I have to say I had quite a bit of fun working on this one.

Yay! Finally time for Tailor! I love this guy, seriously. I think he's the most fun to animate in term 1.
Here's Tailor then!
Below is my planning for Tailor~

Term 1 - Week 5
This week's assignment consists of obstacle course for bouncing ball and devastated Stu.
So here's the obstacle course~
And my planning for the bouncing ball:
Here's the final pose for Stu, devastation. It was somewhat fun to make him look devastated >_> Stu is kind of troublesome to pose because of his huge head, sometimes you have to change the pose you initially came up with just because of his gigantic head~
Some sketches for this week's Stu.

Term 1 - Week 4
This week, we have a heavy and a light ball bouncing and coming to a stop. I chose to go for a bowling ball and a beach ball. Still keeping it simple while I can!
For some reason, there is no Stu pose this week. He must have been lonely ;_;
Well, next week we'll see him quite devastated because of that!

Term 1 - Week 3
And onto week 3! Here comes the famous bouncing ball. We'll be doing bouncing ball assignments the coming few weeks~ It's the simplest bouncing ball this week. A looping basketball~
As for the poses, this week's is excitement! It was somewhat a challenging one to be honest. Makes you think what exactly is excitement, when do we get excited and such. It's so easy to mix it up with happiness, although those two sometimes (maybe more often than just sometimes) go together.
Okay, my drawings are not the best, I admit. But at least I understand what the pose is trying to tell most of the time.
And here's Stu with his A+ running to show his parents!

Term 1 - Week 2
Alright! Time to post some stuff! It's been so long x_x
I'll be starting with week 2 as week 1 was just updating our profiles~ So no real assignment was given.
This week's assignment was to go out and sketch out some people on the streets! Then choose one pose to apply on Stu~
Here's what I have:
It's a lot of fun to just walk around and do sketches really. Even though it's like 40 degrees outside..
Anyways, here's Stu with pose 12. He needs a t-shirt afterall!

Week 6: Lighting The Scene
This week's assignment was to light the scene up.
Here's my attempt at lighting the night version.
I can see a few things that could and maybe should be tweaked, but I'll leave it at this for now.

Week 5: Building A Set
And onto week 5. This week's assignment was to model a set for the FK rig we built last week.
I wasn't exactly sure about what to go for to be honest. I thought of many locations, but couldn't settle on one.
And well, in the end, here's what I came up with. A desk used for drawing. I think she fits in there.
Took only about 4 hours, coffee -and whatnot- breaks included.
I had quite a lot of fun though! It's been some time since I did some modelling~

Week 4: FK Rig
Well. AM is finally rolling! The Maya springboard at least. Here's some update on what we have been doing.
I'm not posting the very first assignment; it was a simple RTS exercise, placing NURBS primitives on a bookshelf.
This one right here is the second assignment: building an FK rig. Everyone came up with different stuff, it's fun to just download the rigs and play around!
And here's mine:
It's been so long since I used a complete FK rig, it feels very weird, even while just posing. Oh well. Practice.

Some Complete Projects
I thought I should post some of my complete projects here as well.
All the following are projects that I made during my master's on 3D Computer Animation in NCCA, Bournemouth Uni.
The following is the first project, emotional bouncing ball.
It was a lot of fun, as most bouncing ball projects are!
The next was Billy Bob. We are provided with the rig, and the rest is up to us. The rules: there should be an emotional change, and it should be a max of 30 seconds (as far as I remember that is!).
The next one I had was the group project. With 5 other colleagues, we decided to make a game. We only had 7 weeks to work on this project, including pre-production. The engine was written from scratch. I got to do modelling/texturing and level design.
It was a lot of fun! And we all learned a lot about the workflow.
Only if we had more time~
And my master's project. A game character that I designed for a steampunkish J-RPG on Xbox360/Ps3. Everything from character design to final renders is mine.
Well, thanks for watching!

Yay! Finally starting to use this blog!
Yep! I apparently got this one in 2009! I can't believe I completely forgot about that.
Well, starting Animation Mentor, I thought I finally HAD to start writing a blog. So I browse to blogger.com, and all of a sudden... Whoa. Why do I have a blog here?
Oh well. Everything has to start somewhere.
I will be posting updates as I work on my projects, blog is the best way to keep track of your WIP after all!
